The Estonian Youth Wind Orchestra (ENPO) is a project orchestra consisting of young people aged 12–25, which gathers on average four times a year for three-day camps in various locations across Estonia. The orchestra began its activities in 1972 as the Republican Youth Wind Orchestra, with Ilmar Tõnisson as its first conductor. In 1994, the Estonian Youth Wind Orchestra was established under the Estonian Choral Association. Since then, the orchestra has been conducted by Ott Kask, Harry Illak, Aavo Ots, Valdo Rüütelmaa, Jaan Ots, Sirly Illak-Oluvere, Riivo Jõgi, and Tarmo Kivisilla. Since the beginning of 2024, the chief conductor of the orchestra has been Silver Niinemets.
The orchestra has also participated in several concert tours and competitions abroad, for example in Finland, Sweden, Italy, the Netherlands, France, the United States, and Switzerland. In addition, ENPO was awarded the title of “Wind Orchestra of the Year 2017” by the Estonian Choral Association.
